National anthem of Lithuania
"Tautiška giesmė" (literally "The National Hymn") is the national anthem of Lithuania. The lyrics and the music were written by Vincas Kudirka in 1898, when Lithuania was still part of the Russian Empire.
The first public performance in Lithuania took place in 1905 - years before it became the official anthem (1919), one year after Lithuania declared its independence.
